Priscila Estep
Priscila is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She specializes in providing a warm and friendly space for children, teens, college students, and individuals facing various challenges.
Whether you're navigating life transitions, coping with grief, managing anger, battling anxiety or depression, dealing with trauma, facing family conflicts, or addressing relationship issues, Priscila is here to offer support. She's also skilled in addressing school-related concerns, self-esteem issues, stress management, and women's issues.
In sessions, Prisicila embraces Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients examine the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Clients will learn to identify and overcome cognitive distortions or "thinking traps," such as all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophizing, and faulty assumptions. Prisicila also integrates mindfulness and grounding techniques to encourage non-judgmental observation and focus on the present moment.
Using Gestalt interventions, Prisicila guides clients to focus on "here and now" feelings and experiences, using experiential techniques like role-play, physical movement, and event reenactment to evoke emotions and understand their origins.
Born and raised in Brazil, Priscila's diverse cultural exposure enriches her understanding of different backgrounds. She holds a degree in School Counseling which has equipped her to confidently work with school-age children and navigate multicultural environments.
Inspired by Brene Brown's wisdom, Prisicila lives by the belief that "The courage to be vulnerable is not about the courage to show up when you can't predict or control the outcome." She sees vulnerability as a shared human experience, acknowledging that it takes courage to embrace vulnerability rather than conceal it.
Outside the office, Priscila finds joy in spending time with her husband, twin daughters, and dogs. She also enjoys activities like Yoga, Pilates, and meditation, fostering her own well-being and balance.
