Samantha Angulo

Samantha Angulo

Samantha Angulo is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern specializing in working with children, pre-teens, teens, and individuals facing challenges related to anxiety (including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, specific phobias, and selective mutism), disruptive behaviors (such as ADHD, ODD, CD), and enuresis.

Her passion lies in helping young people learn to manage and regulate their fears and strong emotions, while also empowering parents to better support their children through these difficulties and effectively address challenging behaviors. Samantha has extensive experience with Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and various parenting programs designed to strengthen parent-child relationships.

Samantha employs a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thinking patterns and behaviors that may be hindering their progress. She integrates exposure-based methods to assist clients in confronting their fears in a collaborative and approachable manner. Additionally, she incorporates mindfulness, problem-solving, and coping skills into her sessions, equipping clients to better navigate difficult situations and emotional experiences.

Samantha describes herself as a warm and empathetic therapist who brings acceptance, patience, and optimism into her sessions. She strives to see the world through her clients' eyes, working alongside them to help them help themselves.

Her favorite quote, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and it's all small stuff" by Richard Carlson, reflects her approach to life and therapy. This book taught her valuable life lessons about stress and worry, encouraging her to let go of control and embrace a more relaxed outlook on life.

Outside of the office, Samantha enjoys spending time at the beach, being with family and friends, and staying active through weight lifting and running. She also loves reading, cooking, and embroidering, finding joy in both creative and physical activities.
