Yessy Gutierrez

Yessy

Yessy is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern known for her approachable, empathetic, and genuine presence. She works with young adults, couples, and families who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. Yessy believes that therapy begins with feeling truly heard and understood, creating a space where clients can be themselves without judgment while working toward meaningful change.

Yessy helps clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, grief, self-esteem, and major life transitions. She takes the time to understand each person’s unique story and meets them where they are, helping clients gain insight into their experiences, build practical coping skills, and feel more confident in the choices they make.

Her background in both business and mental health gives Yessy a unique perspective on the many transitions and pressures that can come with work, relationships, and everyday life. As a bilingual therapist, she values creating an inclusive environment where clients from diverse backgrounds feel understood and supported. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy, curiosity, and genuine connection.

Yessy draws from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adapting her work to each client’s individual needs. In couples and family therapy, she helps clients strengthen communication, better understand one another, and build healthier, more meaningful relationships.

One of Yessy’s favorite quotes, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better,” by Maya Angelou, reflects her belief that growth begins with self-compassion. She believes we are all doing the best we can with what we know at the time, and that gaining new insight gives us the opportunity to move forward with greater intention, resilience, and self-awareness.

Outside of the therapy room, Yessy enjoys trying new recipes, attending hot yoga classes, taking walks, and spending time with family and friends. She also loves reality TV, period dramas, sports, and relaxing by the pool in the South Florida sunshine. And if there is an animal nearby, chances are it will quickly become the highlight of her day.
